Descriptive Paragraph - Something I Look Forward To

Fatigue carries over my body and slows life to the speed of a snail. I watch as the hand moves slower and slower as it eventually halts completely and seems to start ticking backwards. My body slumps in my chair and I feel like a rat stuck in a cage. The teachers words seem to meld together and turn into a foriegn language. As I sit there and I imagine my own personal fortress that I steal away in after the hands touch 3 and 40. But not yet, because today the clock wants to torture me, to steal away my eager body, eager to get up and run home. Tick............tick...............my nails clinch in wait…………..tick..................tick.............the clock taunts me tick…tick…until finally the inevitable gives in to my will and the cages are released. A wild frenzy ensues as a stampede of high schoolers are set free.

I think that five million kids around the world can relate to this...except they have different time zones, so like in Berlin, they probably look forward to 3:40 there, but here it would be 2:00 am. I know what you mean though. I can really relate to the teachers words melting away into a grilled cheese sandwich. At the end it's like 'So then after that Montar blig blooot byum boot.' just like that. In those exact words.

We don't have clocks, so I'm assuming you look at the sun and estimate the time by the angle er what ever you sun-watchers do. The rat stuck in a cage analagy (or what ever it was) was the best. Once again, I think we all feel the same way about the last ten minutes of school.

Kudos! You deserve a cookie

I'm not sure if "ensue" is a word, but I get what your saying. I agree with Laura, this probably describes what every kid everywhere(even in Berling) is thinking at the end of the day. Nice analagies and superb adjectives.
